THE Papua New Guinea Hunters will hold their awards night in Port Moresby on Saturday with a host of players in contention for awards.
The player of the year award is the most coveted and there are several candidates, with captain Israel Eliab the leading contender. Other players to have caught the eye are winger and Queensland Cup leading try-scorer for 2014 Garry Lo and hooker Wartovo Puara Jr. Having just missed out on a finals spot finishing sixth in their inaugural season, the Michael Marum-coached side has proven their worth and much is expected of them in 2015. The dinner hosted by team sponsor South Pacific Brewery will see other awards announced in the presence of the players, coaching staff, PNGRFL management, sponsors and other guests. Tickets are K450 per person or K4500 for a table of 10, which includes food and drinks. Autographed jerseys (home and away strips) and other first year memorabilia will be auctioned on the night. A raffle will be conducted with the major prize, a trip for two to either a home or away match next season. Those who attend will have the opportunity to watch footage of highlights of the Hunters 2014 season. Tickets can be purchased by emailing Hunters CEO Brad Tassell on: log_05@gmail.com or Ph: 325 9499. Comments are closed.
