IT was sad to learn the passing of Ifiso Segeyaro.
I would like to convey my condolences to the family and pay tribute to a courageous and a great former PNG Kumul five- eighth who stood tall in his days as a player. Although his business the Negiso Distributor’s did not flourish, the late Segeyaro showed his love, care and enthusiasm by embarking into junior rugby league development earnestly and diligently doing all strenuously to bring the game in to the next level. Whilst undertaking the formidable task of developing the junior rugby league, he sent his son to school and play junior rugby league and with no doubt that his son will eventually live a legacy he had dreamt of. The name Segeyaro now enthrals the nation of PNG with pride and left every household on their toes every time James Segeyaro scores a try with the Penrith Panthers. The ongoing success of the PNGNRL in some of our young stars is attributed to the work of the late Segeyaro. Henrick Kafur Kiunga
