Ase Boas is the SP PNG Hunters captain for the 2020 season, the announcement was made at the 2020 launching of the SP PNG Hunters season at the National Football Stadium. The Hunters turned up in their 2020 season jersey in front of sponsors and the media for the full team announcement and the naming of the captain and vice-captain. SP PNG Hunters coach Michael Marum will be counting on the return of playmaker Ase Boas to make a difference tomorrow against competition leaders Easts Tigers in Brisbane. Boas, who has been named at halfback, will combine with rookie five-eighth Justin Yoka, who impressed in last week’s 28-26 loss to the Sunshine Coast Falcons. With the reshuffling of the halves combination over the last three weeks and the 2017 Q-Cup premiers yet to register a win, many are counting on this combination to work out and a win away from home against the Tigers to turn the tide for the PNG side. FORMER Papua New Guinea Hunters skipper Ase Boas, is urging rugby league players to get into the culture of saving. Nasfund brand ambassador Boas, who joins the Featherstone Rovers in England for the 2019 season, said: “Planning or saving for the long term is very difficult for most of us Papua New Guineans but planning to save for long term is achievable. “The question of what would life be after rugby was always something that hit me every time I went home at the end of the season. |
