The SP Hunters have maintained their unbeaten run at home by defeating Wynnum Manly Seagulls 18 - 4 at the National Football Stadium in Port Moresby this afternoon. The Hunters opened the score board through fullback Bland Abavu at the 18th minute. Zeming converted the try and the Hunter took the early lead 6 - 0. The Hunters strike again on the 22nd minute through a nice ball movement from hooker Wartavo Puara to Noel Zeming who scored the second try of the afternoon. Zeming missed the uprights and the Hunters led 10 - 0. The visitors regrouped and sent fullback Daniel Odgen to score their only try of the afternoon. Halfback Mathew Seamark swept the ball away and they trailed 10 - 4. The home side further extended the score through Warren Glare. Zemings converted the try and the Hunters led 16 - 4 at halftime. In the second half, both teams began with exchange of big hits in a physical game. The only points came from Hunters’ Noel Zeming, who converted a penalty in the 50th minute of play to take the lead to 18-4. The man of the match went to hooker Wartovo Puara Jnr.
