The Papua New Guinea Hunters have sent a warning to their Queensland Cup rivals that next year they will be a force to be reckoned with.
The Hunters missed out on a playoff berth in their debut campaign, after results went against them in last weekend's final round of the regular season. The team finish one point outside the top five but Hunters CEO Brad Tassell says they will come back an even better side next year. "The boys are starting to get used to it. They've never been exposed to a tough competition over 26 rounds, week in week out, where you have to be at your best. They're getting to used to that - they're going to be better for it this year - and I'd say when we have a full off-season under our belt, and a full pre-season, we're going to be bigger, stronger and faster next year, which is a bit of a warning bell for the rest of the teams in the competition."
