A 34-MAN Gulf rugby league squad has been named to take on the Isapea in a trial match next month in Kerema.
The squad was selected during last weekend’s Gulf Governor’s Cup in Kerema. The squad comprises raw talent from PNG Rugby League affiliates Kerema Urban, Kerema Central, Iokea and Malalaua. Gulf Governor’s Cup director Ake Maeauka and provincial league selectors revealed the names to The National yesterday. Gulf-select squad: Sapea, Mauru, Hardie Mautahia, John Koivi, Howard Frank, Jeffrey Mero, Steven Kaka, Mark John, Richard Rauni, John Benson (Young Tigers), Jonathan Mefaramu, Isaac Koivi, Samson Hasu, Abel Butu (Eastern Titans), John Aravape, Morgan Mora, Michael Toae, Martin Kouoru, Patrick Karahure, Chris Jones (Terapo Roosters), George Mane, Pidi Lokoloko, Bobby Haria, Sam Lokoloko, Evera Torea, Moha Torea, Roy Heni Junior (Tei Kariko), Haiveta Miviri (Pusu United); Standby players: Simon Malara, Maiks Araua (Eastern Titans), Sova Mai, Gideon Ova (Central Kerema), Steven Harokuku (Pusu United), Tore Hasu (Tei Kariko).
